Turning Perfume Lovers into Fragrance Creators

Challenge

Our solution aimed to bridge the gap between Puig’s expertise and the consumers’ understanding, enabling users to comprehend how fragrances are composed. We first focused on developing a user-friendly, interactive visual language that could effectively communicate the art and science of fragrance creation. We then turned our visualisation into the main interactive element of the application´s interface, complementing the fragrance printing machine with an easy to use fragrance creating process, ensuring that users can grasp the intricacies of fragrance creation, while empowering them to become professional fragrance creators through an intuitive well crafted experience.

Solution

Two visualizations shaped our interactive language: The olfactive family iris aids in understanding scent composition and ingredient intensity, and the Ingredient quadrification lets users select and adjust ingredient intensities for future formulas.
The visual language became central to the product ecosystem, influencing onboarding, retail design, and brand experience.
